A while ago, I was having morning sunshine problems, with the sun coming through my window and shining on my face and waking me up. Dwight suggested that I duct-tape a curtainy thing over my window. Last night I actually decided to give it a shot, hung up a bedsheet with duct tape, but when I woke up (7 or so) the curtain had fallen down. So I hung it back up, went back to sleep until about 9. I woke up at 9 with the sun shining through onto my face, because in the space of less than two hours, the curtain had fallen back down again.
Duct tape has failed me. :(

You just aren't using enough of it, man! Duct tape never fails! It's all about surface area. Get as much of the sticky surface area of the tape on the curtain / sheet as you can, and then get as much of the sticky surface area that's left on the wall as you can. Surface area. It's all about surface area.
