Assorted Blurbs

tonight I played a game of "Pirates of the Spanish Main" against my mom, and won.
David, you ought to post your updates from Orlando in here. it really is more like the Super Ferrell Brother, which simply does not work, because I'm white rather than black. hmm, I wonder if he ever checks this.

A Memory From Awhile Ago

Alec, and Jaren Andersen, and I, one evening during fall of Freshman year, had randomly decided to go get dinner at Subway, but as we were heading out we ran into Annie Shellito and Jen Silgals. And Annie had a birthday gift certificate from her parents, for some Chinese restaurant down the street, I forget what it's called. So the three of us guys came along too, at Annie's request, and I drew various polearms on my napkin. You know, spears, and glaives, and naginata, and such stuff (this fact becomes relevant later). And then the topic of asparagus comes up because there are some dishes involving asparagus on the menu or something.
We get to talking about the plural of asparagus. Asparagi? And this brings to Alec's mind an image of a dude ringing your doorbell, and he has a pizza box and a baseball cap and a pizza-delivery uniform, but then inside the pizza box is a bunch of asparagus, and on his shirt it says "The Aspara-guy." We came up with a cartoon character, "Aspara-Gus the Aspara-guy", who frankly looked like he belonged in Veggietales, and next to all the polearms I drew him. Jaren and I imagined us making t-shirts, one of them the "Aspara-Gus" t-shirt, and the other with the
lineup of polearms, all of them labeled, and terminating with an asparagus spear labeled "Aspara-guy." There were many many puns exchanged regarding the concept of spare asparagus. And remember the ring of Gyges from the Republic? Well...Alec invented the ring of Aspara-Gyges.
